Bent Keen To Cut It At Spurs

Darren Bent has admitted "it simply hasn't worked" for him at Tottenham - but the striker insists he will stay at White Hart Lane and turn it around.

Bent has had few opportunities to impress at Spurs since joining for £16.5million from Charlton in the summer.

There has been speculation of a January switch to West Ham, but the 23-year-old insists he is determined to carve out a successful career for himself in north London.

"People are always going to pick out someone who cost a lot of money and, so far, it's fair to say Tottenham haven't seen the best of me," Bent told the Daily Mirror.

"But it's only been six months. Some people go on like I've been here for two years and it simply hasn't worked.

"But it will work, and I will turn it around."

Bent's fellow striker Dimitar Berbatov has been strongly connected with a move to Manchester United since rumours circulated of a fall-out with previous manager Martin Jol early in the season.

But he has returned to form in recent weeks and agent Emil Dantchev has assured Juande Ramos he is now settled again.

"Dimitar is happy at Tottenham," said Dantchev.
