Villa Attracts Premier Interest

Sat 29 Dec, 02:09 PM

Argentine striker Emanuel Villa is interesting a Premier League club, according to UAG Tecos' president Antonio Leano Reyes.

The Mexican side have confirmed that they have received an inquiry from a Premier League club in regards to the frontman's availability.

Villa has been playing in the Primera Division de Mexico since leaving Argentina in 2006 and has a good goalscoring record during his time with Atlas and Tecos.

However, he has not spent more than two years at any of his five clubs to date and only arrived at Tecos earlier this year.

Reyes has refused to name the interested English party, but it is believed to be a side currently struggling in the Premier League and willing to pay around £2million for the player.

"I can't say which English team is interested in Villa, but it should be announced very soon," Reyes told Mediotiempo.

"We have spoken with him and told him what we think, and it is a very interesting offer which has been made."
