Fernando Alonso has a secret agreement to join Ferrari for four years from 2011, according to Italian sports daily La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The twice Formula One world champion has never hidden his desire to go to the Italian team and Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo recently fuelled the ongoing speculation by refusing to rule out the Spaniard's future arrival.
The newspaper said the deal had several get-out clauses for both sides but added that Alonso could join Ferrari even earlier, in 2010, if 2007 world champion Kimi Raikkonen follows this year's disappointing season with another bad campaign.
By contrast, Alonso was in impressive form after returning to Renault following a difficult season at McLaren, despite not having a car competitive enough to challenge for the title.
The 27-year-old won two races, in Singapore and Japan, and finished fifth in the standings for Renault, with whom he won the 2005 and 2006 world championships.
Ferrari have Raikkonen and this year's title runner-up Felipe Massa under contract until the end of 2010, while Alonso's current deal with Renault also runs for two more seasons.
A Ferrari spokesman would not comment on the reports, apart from saying: "We can only repeat that we have two drivers signed to the end of 2010".

Felipie massa will wont this year 2009 championship
alonso is a good driver. kinda hate him since he beat us a lot but hell of a driver. excited!!!
Marion: it will take him until 2011 to get to Ferrari.. he has to walk .. his plane crashed
Fernando will be 29 in 2010, the way young drivers are being recruited in F1, he will be almost 'over the hill'. Lots of younger 'hot-shoes' will be snapping at his heels, Seb Vettel for one.
Bernard you're an idiot. Glock was on the racing line. There was no DRY line otherwise why would anyone be on wets? Glock stayed out on grooved tyres hoping the rain would hold off long enough to gain several places. In the coverage you can clearly see it rained much more heavily during the last lap. He took a gamble with nothing to lose and a lot to gain. It's called racing. F1 videos are routinely removed from Youtube regardless of the content, I think it's called copyright.
Mclaren Team is a CHEATER!!!! Lewis Hamilton is not a deserving champion and will never be because what happened in Brazil is a clear and absolute example of cheating... Glock is also part of the CHEATERS!!!!
If the FIA had the slightest thought that Glock let Hamilton through, they'd have docked Hamilton points to make sure Massa won the championship. So to even think that is totally pointless.
-Just get over it Ferrari fans, and stop grasping at straws because of they're failings.
Don’t you think that in the event Timo Glock was determined to let Hamilton finish fifth, it would have been a thousand times easier simply doing a pit stop just like the rest of the runners?
Your entire story belongs in a new literary gender: The Sports Fiction….
clispyduck,( My kids write better sentences on an etch-a-sketch), oh poor kids clispy is that all you can afford for them, like you then never get on in life.
and I think the Shoemaker teacher told him to do that
HELLO The A holl that thinks sorry that dosn"t think L H should be No 1 if massa did not T Bone him the week B 4 he would not need Glock Mr @#$% @#$%
Lewis Hamilton is the champ. Nothing will ever change that you haters! Lol!
Yes Patrick Hamilton does not get along with his fellow drivers neither does Kimi and your point is?
I believe the idiot Douchebag is you Patrick.
To the idiot that says Alonso lost the respect of other drivers, the only driver that doesn't get along with the others is douchebag Hamilton. Alonso could win 5 championships with the Scuderia if given the chance. No active driver is even close to him.
We expect to Hyundai Motor..or SAMSUNG ..Those of company can buy Honda..
The Lewis haters can continue to stew in there juices of hatred.
one simple idea for all hamilton haters. glocks position in the final race shouldn't have made any difference to lewis. because massa had gained a point in fuji from seb bourdais having had a time penalty after not rolling out the red carpet for felipe. lewis would of had two points more instead of just one. people have mixed feelings about spa. but no-one agrees with what happened to seb at fuji
I see the way racistroute aka moronroute aka touronroute never gives an answer to a question.
keep running you are the idiot not Bill Mac.
Until you give the answer as to why you hate Lewis Hamilton for doing exactly the same as DC and Jenson Button, you are marked as the racist bigoted fool you are.
Excellent comment on La Gazzetta Office Boy
However, I gotta say I'm thinking Fernando is on his way to Ferrari. The Santander deal is a lot more credible than the news rag. If Ferrari desires to keep them as a sponsor Fernando will be part of the deal. Thats why Santander left McLaren. I'm guessing once Alonso was gone and the contract was completed at McLaren Santander left to pursue FA who they must believe will be at Ferrari very soon.
Uh, look Dude, it's not a secret if YOU know about it!
