Kyle relishing Wolves challenge

Wed 30 Jan, 03:00 PM

Kevin Kyle insisted he was "relishing" the challenge ahead at Molineux after joining Wolves on loan until the end of the season from Coventry. The Scot passed a medical on Wednesday morning and now all that remains is for the final paperwork surrounding the deal to be completed.

Kyle, 26, previously played under Wanderers boss Mick McCarthy at Sunderland and revealed he was looking forward to working with the former Republic of Ireland boss again.

He told the club's official website: "I'm delighted to be here. Wolves are in a good position to get into the play-offs, if not automatic promotion. And it's great to link up with Mick again. He got the best out of me when he was at Sunderland.

He added: "I'm here to work hard and fight for a place and do my bit for the team. It's going to be tough but it's a challenge I'm relishing."

McCarthy said: "He'll offer us something different to what we've already got. We've got plenty of pace in the squad at the moment but we haven't got a target man."
