Scunthorpe chairman Steve Wharton has told Norwich an offer of £5million would not be enough for Martin Paterson.Wharton confirmed the Canaries had made an enquiry about Paterson, who has scored 11 goals for the struggling Glanford Park side this season.

Wharton told the Scunthorpe Telegraph: "I've had a very brief telephone conversation with someone from Norwich.

"They inquired if Martin was available and I said not at any price.

"When the response came that every player had his price, I told them that £5million would not be enough for them to take Martin.

"That was the end of the conversation and there was no offer made."
