Preston have signed Arsenal forward Rhys Murphy on loan until the end of the season.
The 21-year-old is a product of the Gunners' youth system and is a regular fixture in Neil Banfield's reserve team at the Emirates Stadium.
Murphy made one start and five substitute appearances during a short-term loan stay with Brentford in the 2009/10 season, but is yet to make his Arsenal bow.
Murphy is North End boss Graham Westley's fifth signing of the January transfer window following the captures of Andrew Proctor, Chris Holroyd, Jamie McAllister and Alex Marrow - the latter two also joining on loan deals.

Seems as though he's adding to the squad not down-sizing it - left-back gone/going? Will he be cashing in on Hume or Mellor next?
yep, give him a chance, he's going to do well there as he did for us.
hope you are right, he is making wholesale changes, concerned that too many players are coming in, that noones heard off!
From a sad Stevenage fan; He know's what he's doing and Preston are lucky to have him.
