The points came from a magnificent move as Elliott Bennett beat three men in a 40-yard run and laid on a brilliant defence-splitting pass to Nicky Adams on the left wing who fired home.

"No one's done as well as this and its four clean sheets out of five. That's brilliant after the week we've had," added Knill.

That week had seen the team forced to take days off with their manager consigned to bed by a back problem and no one else available to take the training.

Knill added: "I'd like the say it was all down to good preparation. But apart from a little gym work on Thursday and a chat on Friday the team have had a rest. It was all down to team spirit and fighting for the cause."
