Leyton Orient boss Martin Ling rued an anti-climatic finish to the season after a 2-1 defeat to Port Vale all but ended their play-off chances.David Howland struck a last-minute winner for the seemingly-doomed Valiants after Orient put in a lacklustre performance.
Ling said: "I didn't want the season to fade away, but after three defeats in a row it looks as if it is.
"For the first 45 minutes we looked the superior side, but after they got a goal back they put their foot on the gas and managed to get themselves a last minute goal.
"It was very disappointing because we didn't manage to put away a team who haven't been playing so well recently.
"We've now got to lift ourselves for a big game against Leeds next week and, if we can win that one, it will hopefully give us the lift to kick on for the final few matches."
