Rotherham boss Mark Robins insisted he could not blame the club's off-the-field problems for their 5-1 humiliation at the hands of Morecambe. The Millers are in administration but Robins felt there was no justification for such an abject surrender.
He said: "It's been a bad, bad week but a shocking day and it's the lowest I've felt since taking over as manager.
"It was embarrassing at times. Everyone knows that there are off the field problems here but there is no excuse for a performance like that or the basic errors we made all too often.
"It just wasn't good enough and I've told the lads that because had it not been for Andy Warrington it could have been 10.
"I felt embarrassed for the supporters who made the journey and the players should too."
