Chief executive Roy Whalley has dismissed talk of an imminent takeover at League One outfit Walsall as "wild speculation".
Rumours surfaced over the weekend regarding a £6million bid being prepared to buy the League One club, with travel company Arriva touted by some sources as the interested suitors.
But Whalley, while confirming chairman Jeff Bonser remains interested in handing over the reins, insists the recent talk of a takeover is nonsense.
"There is no substance in these rumours," Whalley told the club's official website. "This is nothing more than wild speculation.
"As he made clear over a number of years, the chairman would be prepared to talk to interested parties but, as of yet, these have not been forthcoming.
"To suggest that a takeover is imminent is just wild speculation."
