Celtic goalkeeper Artur Boruc has been dropped by Poland for their clash with San Marino after his nightmare showing against Northern Ireland.
Boruc endured a night to forget as his air shot allowed Michal Zewlakow's backpass to roll into the unguarded net as Northern Ireland recorded a 3-2 win.
Poland coach Leo Beenhakker also blamed Boruc for Northern Ireland's opener after he misjudged a cross to allow Warren Feeney to score.
Beenhakker admitted the performance and reception Boruc received from the home fans had affected him and he has decided to take him out of firing line.
"Of course what happened last Saturday evening in Ireland affected the whole team, but especially in this way Artur Boruc," said Beenhakker.
Veteran coach Beenhakker revealed he spoke to Boruc after the game to inform he would not be playing against San Marino.
"In this conversation I informed him, openly and honestly, that I will not use him for the match on Wednesday versus San Marino," added Beenhakker.
"You can imagine that Artur was very affected of course about what happened on Saturday, especially his role during the match, and we both decided that the best decision was that he should leave the camp and go back to Glasgow."
Meanwhile, FIFA have launched an investigation into the incident at Windsor Park on Saturday when assistant referee Stefan Wittberg was hit by a coin.
World football's governing body are deciding whether to take disciplinary action after Wittberg needed treatment for a head wound.
The Swedish official was struck in the first half of the home side's 3-2 victory.
The individual concerned was identified and ejected from the ground at half-time.
A FIFA spokesman said: "FIFA are currently reviewing an incident in the World Cup qualifier between Northern Ireland and Poland on Saturday, where a Swedish assistant referee was hit by a coin.
"FIFA has received a report from the match referee (Martin Hansson) as well as the match commissioner.
"Following a review of those two respective reports, FIFA will then decide on whether any disciplinary procedures will be opened."
The Irish Football Association have already condemned the behaviour of the supporter who threw the missile.
"What happened was totally unacceptable," said a spokesman. "The individual was identified and evicted from the stadium at half-time. Appropriate action will now be taken.
"But this was an isolated incident. The Northern Ireland fans were fantastic at Windsor and gave the team great vocal backing."

I think the same happened to an England keeper not so long ago, away to Croatia I think. Rangers fans have nothing to gloat about anyway, how did the Scottish keeper do?
Forget about Boruc, that other unimpressive keeper Kuszczak and the inexperienced Fabianski, Jerzy Dudek is the man to be back in the Polish goal. He's been there, done that and put in some fine performances over the years. At the moment he's playing second fiddle to one of the world's best keepers (on form), but when he goes back to Feyenoord and plays regularly under Beenhakker's eye there's no way he cannot be picked again!
