Chester boss Simon Davies believes the team spirit in the Blues dressing room has been pivotal in keeping the club in League Two.Chester clinched safety with a goalless draw against rivals Stockport and Davies is now relishing Saturday's visit of Macclesfield and ahead to next season.

"There is a great team spirit at the moment and without that we would have lost against Stockport, and we would have lost against Shrewsbury on Saturday," said Davies.

"I thought the lads showed great character.

"I always knew we would achieve our goal of safety, everyone of them deserves praise for the way they battled. We can now relax and hopefully enjoy our final game against Macclesfield."
