Rochdale chief executive Colin Garlick has pleaded with supporters to stay off the pitch after Saturday's game against Shrewsbury.Dale have already secured a play-off spot and victory against the Shrews would guarantee them fourth place in League Two.
However, Garlick said: "We understand fully that our supporters will want to give the players a great send off before the crunch semi-final games, but would ask that they stay off the pitch on the final whistle, indeed at all times.
"We have to remind people that it is illegal to encroach upon the field of play at any football stadium.
"We would also state that our groundsman and his team need to prepare a playing surface for a massive game in the next few weeks so having several hundred people running on it would not be ideal."
