Newly-crowned Port Vale player of the year Paul Harsley is still weighing up his options after being offered a new contract by the club.Harsley has joined Danny Whitaker, Dave Howland and Luke Prosser in being offered contract renewals at Vale Park as the club prepare for life in League Two next term.
He told the Sentinel: "The manager spoke to me two weeks ago and indicated he wants me to stay. So we will take it from there and see what will happen."
The Valiants skipper scooped the main award for his performances this season and admitted he would like to have claimed the prizes in happier circumstances following their relegation.
He added: "I think I am one of those players who isn't that flashy, but just gives my all. Hopefully, that transmits to the fans. It is nice to be recognised sometimes for giving your all but I didn't expect this award to be honest. It has been a hard season, but I have enjoyed being the captain. Unfortunately, it hasn't quite worked out, but I like to think I have given it my best shot."
Boss Lee Sinnott added: "I can only comment since I came here on November 5, but he has done an admirable job during a difficult season and has stepped up to the plate as captain. He has pulled people along, so I am not surprised he has won."
