Ipswich physio Matt Byard insists midfielder David Norris will be back for pre-season after undergoing surgery on a troublesome heel injury.The 27-year-old has been sidelined for a month after he tore his plantar fascia in his foot in the Tractor Boys victory over Charlton in March.

Ipswich physio Matt Byard told the club's official website: "We were hoping to avoid an operation but he could only get to 70 per cent activity before the pain intensified.

"David will be on crutches for 10-12 days and will then begin his rehab. He will not be able to start running again for five or six weeks but we expect him to be fully active again for pre-season."
