Burnley have released out-of-favour midfielder Garreth O'Connor from the Championship outfit.O'Connor's contract was due to expire in the summer, but he has been released early to give him the best possible chance of finding a new club.
Clarets boss Owen Coyle said: "It's unfortunate for Garreth that it never worked out and we wish him well.
"He has worked hard during my time here and just never got a chance."
O'Connor, 29, joined Burnley in 2005 from Bournemouth but was placed on the transfer list in May 2007 and has since then has failed to break into the first team.
