Chesterfield chairman Barrie Hubbard insists Lee Richardson's position as manager "is not under threat" despite failure to win promotion.Hubbard stated at the start of the campaign that not making an immediate return to League One would be seen as a 'failure' following their relegation last season, and the Spireites are destined to finish eighth in League Two after their play-off challenge hit the buffers in the final month of the season.
That has prompted calls from some fans for Richardson to be replaced, but Hubbard told the club's official website: "I know a lot of people have picked up on what I said about us not getting promotion - and it is a failure.
"But I don't think it is a sacking matter for anybody and his job is not under threat at the moment.
"I hope Lee Richardson will be here for the length of his contract, which is next season, and beyond. And if it is beyond then we will definitely have had success."
