Wallace wants Black Cats stay

Wed 30 Apr, 12:30 PM

Transfer-listed winger Ross Wallace is hoping he is given a second chance at the Stadium of light by Sunderland manager Roy Keane. The Scot was put on the list by Keane in January and days later suffered a knee injury which has kept him out for over three months.

Now fit again, Wallace is keen to figure in Sunderland's final two matches of the Premier League season against Bolton and Arsenal.

And the former Celtic youngster is looking to convince Kean he is worth keeping at the Stadium of Light next season.

"It was probably the worst week of my career so far - transfer-listed and then picking up a serious injury!" Wallace told the Sunderland Echo.

"It wasn't good at all, but you just have to deal with these things.

"It was a surprise when I was put on the transfer list, but the manager is paid to make those decisions.

"And it was a bad time to get injured because I just wanted to get my head down in training and try to change the manager's mind.

"But I'm fit now and I hope I get a second chance because I want to stay here, but that's up to the manager, of course."
