Trouble occurred after the Blues' 2-1 victory over Premier League title rivals United at Stamford Bridge after the Red Devils' players apparently objected to being asked to move as they warmed down on the pitch.

United full-back Patrice Evra was involved in the incident, but Buck is convinced the French defender was not subject to racist abuse.

"My understanding is that it is not a racist issue," said Buck. "As far as we are concerned it is handbags at 10 paces.

"We have had the communication from the Football Association and now it is a matter for them."

Chelsea manager Avram Grant was "very happy" members of his squad were not involved in the flare-up.

Grant told the Guardian: "I am very happy that my players were not involved in this. It was players from the other team. But it's now a club issue."
