Bates positive over Whites future

Fri 30 May, 06:00 PM

Leeds chairman Ken Bates has told Gary McAllister to recruit the players who can deliver the club promotion back to the Football League.Bates insists he has already shaken off the disappointment of Leeds' play-off final defeat to Doncaster and is "buzzing" about next season.

Bates told Yorkshire Radio: "Gary doesn't have to sell. The only ones may be the players that he might not want.

"He has identified the players he wants and we can't wait to see the fixture list to see who will feel the rough edge of our strike force come August."

Bates added: "I started on Sunday night planning for next year and the signs are looking good. The disappointment ended at 5pm on Sunday and we had to turn over the page from there. This is the next chapter now and we're buzzing.

"I've had a meeting with Gary and Shaun (Harvey), going over every player we've got and every player we want to get, and we're getting things ship shape for next season."
