Manager Mark Stimson insists every member of his Gillingham squad will be given the chance to impress over the pre-season schedule. The Gills face the likes of Birmingham City, Ipswich, Stevenage, Faversham and Grays in July and Stimson is keen for every player to play their part in preparation for life in League Two.
"Stevenage, Faversham and Grays are our first three games and every squad player will be given 45 minutes to make an impression in each game," said Stimson.
"We will be rotating the players with a mixture of experienced heads and some of the younger first year pros to see who's really up for the challenge.
"Any player that make the most of their opportunity will keep the shirt and by the Ipswich game [July 23] I will have a good idea of my first 11."
