Hull boss Phil Brown is reportedly preparing a bid for Wigan full-back Ryan Taylor as he looks to boost his defensive options.Brown is said to be willing to offer Wigan £750,000 for the 23-year-old who made only 12 league starts for Steve Bruce's side last season but scored on three occasions.
It is unclear whether he remains in the Latics manager's plans for next season but it is thought he may be willing to sell at the right price.
Derby boss Paul Jewell, who brought Taylor to Wigan from Tranmere in July 2005, is also monitoring the situation but if the Liverpool-born defender is deemed surplus to requirements at the JJB, he would no doubt prefer to remain in the Premier League.
