Delaney loving international life

Fri 30 May, 02:45 PM

QPR defender Damien Delaney is relishing life on the international stage following his second appearance for the Republic of Ireland. The 26-year-old, who joined Rangers from Hull in January, impressed at left-back as the Irish secured a 1-0 win over Colombia at Craven Cottage - their first victory under new coach Giovanni Trapattoni.

"It's been a great fortnight or so. I've loved every minute of it and to round it off with a victory and a clean sheet was fantastic," Delaney told Rangers' official website.

"I was pleased with my contribution and hopefully I've done enough to keep my place for the September qualifiers against Georgia and Montenegro."
