Winger Dan Smith, who made his first-team debut as a sub in the 1-0 defeat at Burnley in January, has signed a one-year contract with Plymouth.The 18-year-old played at Turf Moor before his home bow arrived, also from the bench, in the 3-0 win over Blackpool on April 26.

Manager Paul Sturrock told the club's official website: "I am delighted to have Dan on board for next season.

"He is a young player who has the potential to be a real force for us and it is now up to him to show he merits a place in my team."
