British sailors remained in contention for medals on day three of the World Cup series in Medemblik, Netherlands.

Paul Goodison (pictured), in the Laser, and Giles Scott, on Finn, topped their classes while fellow Britons Nick Thompson and Ed Wright joined them in the top three.

But there was not such good news in the women's 470 class where Penny Clark and Saskia Clark dropped down the rankings to seventh after failing to finish race five.

There was no change in the 49er class with John Pink and Rick Peacock, Paul Campbell-James and Mark Asquith and Stevie Morrison and Ben Rhodes all remaining in the top five.

And Nick Dempsey remained fourth after six races in the men's RS:X windsurfing class, despite an excellent day on the water.
