Hatters adamant over Dickinson fee

Mon 30 Jun, 01:30 PM

Stockport managing director Mark Maguire insists Derby have yet to make a suitable offer for highly-rated striker Liam Dickinson. The Rams had a £250,000 bid for the 6ft 4in forward turned down earlier this month and have been linked with a further move for the former Woodley Sports frontman.

Maguire also hit out at Derby's pursuit of Dickinson, 22, whose 21 goals helped Stockport to win promotion last season.

Maguire said: "Our counterparts at Derby keep putting it in the press about their interest in Liam, but nothing has changed because there have been no suitable bids.

"Obviously Liam is very ambitious but so are we and we fully expect him to be a Stockport County player when the season kicks off."
