Bristol City have completed the signing of Portsmouth teenager Andre Blackman.

The 18-year-old, who has signed a two-year contract, can play at full-back or on the wing and has targeted a swift breakthrough into manager Gary Johnson's first team.

Blackman, currently recovering from an ankle injury, told the club's official website: "This is a very big move for me. I've not played a first-team game yet and for the gaffer to sign me and give me the chance to show what I can do is great.

"I want to express myself and show that I can be ready for first-team football. It's a big move in general.

"I'm working every day with the medical team and the aim is to be fit near the end of July."
