Lappin lands new deal

Tue 30 Jun, 11:15 AM

Scottish midfielder Simon Lappin has earned himself a new two-year contract at Norwich - 16 months after being dumped on the transfer list.

Lappin was also loaned out to Motherwell in 2008 and trained with the youth-team players at Colney, but he was brought back into the first-team fold by manager Bryan Gunn towards the end of last season.

He told the Norwich Evening News: "I'm absolutely over the moon. I'm glad to get it done now so I can just get on with playing football. I told the manager I wanted to be here and I'm happy it's sorted.

"I've said before that although it might not always be the case, I want to play every minute of every game and I've told the manager all along I want to play for Norwich."

"It's been a tough year but this is a challenge we're all looking forward to, and I just can't wait to get the season started."
