Thordarson battles cash constraints

Crewe boss Gudjon Thordarson admits the club's financial constraints are making it difficult for him to sign new players.

The Icelander has brought in two new faces so far this summer - Histon pair Patrick Ada and Mat Mitchel-King - and hopes to add more before Crewe begin their League Two campaign at home to Dagenham on August 8.

He told BBC Radio Stoke: "The tricky part is to get the quality with the money I have to spend, but I will keep trying to improve my squad.

"I have been busy over the summer trying to find the quality we need to improve us. Some of those players have gone beyond us because of their personal terms and all you can do in that situation is walk away.

"I would like to bring in some more because I would like to strengthen. We have to sign players on a Bosman free transfer but there are other options available to me."
