Mexican club Cruz Azul claim they have reached an agreement with Derby to sign striker Emanuel Villa.

Villa, 27, who moved to Pride Park from UAG Tecos for £2million in January 2008, has been told he is not part of Nigel Clough's plans for the 2009/10 season and looks set to return to Mexico.

A statement released by Cruz Azul said: "We have reached an agreement with Derby County of England for the transfer of Emanuel Villa, who will arrive today (Tuesday) to undergo a medical and sign a contract."
