Premier League - Transfers: Cole set for Milan?

Eurosport - Wed, 30 Jun 10:28:00 2010

It is not all doom and gloom for England's players today. The Sun brings us news that Joe Cole will be offered £3 million a year to join Italian side AC Milan.

The newspaper says that the midfielder, released by Chelsea, is also being targeted by Arsenal and Tottenham, but claims the player would prefer a move abroad.

The Sun says that Internazionale, Lazio and Juventus are also interested in signing Cole, but speculate that Milan will offer him wages of £60,000 per week over three years.

It also claims Valon Behrami will leave West Ham United for AS Roma with his agent in contact with the Italian club about a return to Italy for the former Lazio player.

Further news from The Sun includes reports that Manchester City will repel any £40million bid from Real Madrid for striker Carlos Tevez after the Spanish club signed his Argentina team-mate Angel di Maria.

City are apparently putting the finishing touches to a £25m deal for Barcelona midfielder Yaya Toure.

The Daily Mail reports that Chelsea defender Ashley Cole and Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard are Real Madrid's transfer targets, while it also claims that Manchester City have been quoted around £50m for Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko.

The Mail claims Aston Villa are studying a possible move for Arsenal striker Eduardo and South Korea defender Cho Yong-Hyung from Jeju United.

Everton could move for Germany defender Arne Freidrich in a £2million deal, according to the Mail, who also say that Alan Curbishley is favourite to replace Roy Hodgson as Fulham manager.

The Daily Telegraph, however, insists that Sven-Goran Eriksson is leading the race to be the new manager at Craven Cottage.

The Times is of a mind that Hodgson will make Fulham defender Brede Hangeland his first main target at Anfield.

Also in The Sun are claims that Stoke are hoping to fend off competition from West Brom to sign Cardiff midfielder Joe Ledley.

Finally, the Daily Star says that Tottenham will not be held to ransom by Palermo over their Danish defender Simon Kjaer.

The Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini says that Spurs have made a £28.5million bid for Kjaer and Uruguay striker Edinson Cavani.

If those two went to Madrid then, Real can kiss bye bye to the La Liga & Champions League for another 5 years. 10. When healthy, Joe Cole is one of the best players at his position in the world. Big step up for Milan if they get him. Put Ambrosini or Seedorf out to Pasture. Getting sick over the thought of Sven Paycheck stealing the money out of my Fulham. He's been worthless everywhere he's been for the past 5 years. Shouldn't the Man City example have been enough if his horrible spell managing England wasn't????
