Crewe Alexandra first-team coach Steve Holland is looking to send players out on loan in order to ease the wage bill at Gresty Road.The Railwaymen have signed six new players this summer and Holland is eager to balance the books.

He told the club's official website: "We would look to loan out some of our players to balance the books a little better but we have to be a little careful not to leave ourselves short if one of two injuries do occur in the opening month of the season.

"We will assess the situation when we get closer to the window shutting at the end of August. Then we will look at where we are and perhaps one or two would benefit from getting some competitive football under their belts.

"We still do have one or two players on the transfer list and something could occur there yet. We have no enquires about Gary (Roberts) or Danny (Woodards) but maybe something could happen before the window closes."
