Steve Bruce is happy with the recruits he has brought to Wigan this summer, having added five fresh faces to his squad at the JJB Stadium.Lee Cattermole completed a £3.5million move from Middlesbrough on Tuesday, joining Daniel de Ridder, Olivier Kapo, Amr Zaki and Maynor Figueroa at The JJB.
With the pre-season preparations progressing nicely, Bruce admits that he will not be spending any more money, providing an injury picked up by Paul Scharner in a friendly against Barnsley does not prove to be too serious.
"The only disappointment last night (Tuesday) was the injury to Scharner. He's twisted his ankle," Bruce told the Wigan Evening Post.
"Our squad has a good depth to it. I'm delighted with what I've done, and I would have thought that is the end of our shopping.
"But we'll have to see how Scharner is. We haven't got a lot of cover at the back with Erik Edman being out at the moment. It's a concern."
Despite the injury concerns, Bruce is in confident mood heading into the 2008/09 campaign.
Latics have suffered just one defeat in four pre-season outings, with a 6-0 hammering of Barnsley in their last outing suggesting that they are heading in the right direction.
"Pre-season has been going well," he said. "We worked hard in Austria last week and you could see the benefit of that last night. Some of them were flying out there."

Ha Ha ha.....Steve Bruce said he was happy with his summer business last close season when he was at Birmingham, and he got us relegated. Huddersfield were right. The man is a joke. Wigan,sack him before relegates you.
