Northampton manager Stuart Gray has confirmed that he will open talks with midfielder Luke Guttridge after an impressive trial with the club.Colchester's Guttridge turned in a solid display in the 1-0 defeat to West Brom on Tuesday night and Gray is close to offering him a deal to stay at Sixfields.

He said: "I will sit down and have a chat with Luke Guttridge and his agent.

"He has qualities but he is a little off the pace at the moment, although we can work on that.

"We have released Matt Halliday but we will talk to Luke and see where we go."
