Notts County have received a boost after learning the injury sustained by defender Michael Johnson isn't as serious as first feared. The summer signing from Derby suffered a hamstring strain during the 2-0 defeat by Stoke at Meadow Lane on Tuesday night and could feature against rivals Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
Physio Paul Smith told the club's official website: "The news is positive on Jonno which is what I'm sure the fans want to hear. He had treatment after the game and also first thing [on Wednesday] and things are looking positive.
"He will continue to have treatment over the next few days with myself and we'll then see if he is in a position to play against Forest at the weekend.
"But the main thing is the injury isn't as serious as people would have thought."
