Anthony Gardner is looking forward to some regular first-team football with Hull following a frustrating couple of years at Tottenham.Gardner joined the Tigers on loan from Spurs at the start of the week and the defender made his first appearace for the club in Tuesday's 1-1 draw with Oldham.

And the 26-year-old is now excited to experience the buzz the city is currently experiencing as it gears up for its first ever season of top flight football.

"There was a bit of speculation around about me coming here and the Chairman was given permission to speak to me," said Gardner on the club's official website.

"He told me what was expected of the Club this year and about the buzz which is around the city at the moment.

"He asked me whether I wanted to be a part of that. I thought about what is happening in my career and about the opportunity of coming to Hull City to play some football.

"I made the decision to come here."
