Scunthorpe winger Kevan Hurst hopes his side's experience of League One success will inspire them to the title and promotion this season.Hurst joined the Iron on loan from Sheffield United in January 2007 and helped them to become League One champions.
He signed a permanent deal last summer but 12 months later they again face life in the third tier after finishing seven points adrift of Championship safety.
The 22-year-old told the Telegraph: "Most of the squad here have plenty of experience of playing in League One and I think we should settle in and do well this season.
"I hope we can do a re-run of the season before last. Hopefully we can be champions again - but even just promotion would be a massive thing for the club to go back into the Championship.
"People don't think that the jump from League One to the Championship is very much, but it really is. The quality and the pace of the game, especially in the final third, is a lot quicker."
