Former Wales winger John Oster, who was released by Reading following last season's relegation, has turned down the chance to join Derby.

Rams boss Paul Jewell had offered the 29-year-old a deal after assessing him through four pre-season friendlies this summer.

But Oster is keeping his options open.

"We did offer John something but it wasn't acceptable to him and he's got other irons in the fire so it's one we'll be moving away from now," Jewell told the club's official website.
