Super Kev at the double for Blues

Wed 30 Jul, 12:45 PM

Striker Kevin Phillips scored twice as Birmingham claimed a last-gasp 3-2 win against Leicester in a friendly clash at the Walkers Stadium.Winger Sebastian Larsson fired the visitors ahead just before the half-hour mark on Tuesday night, only for Matty Fryatt to equalise with a fine strike after 35 minutes.

After a host of second-half substitutes, Phillips headed home a flick-on from Cameron Jerome with 12 minutes remaining.

Lee Carsley, impressive in midfield, was replaced by 16-year-old Jordan Mutch with five minutes to go but both could only watch as Levi Porter equalised for the Foxes.

However, Phillips broke clear in injury time to place a shot past Paul Henderson and maintain Birmingham's 100% pre-season record ahead of their final warm-up game at home to Fulham on Saturday.
