Ipswich manager Jim Magilton has confirmed he is interested in signing Celtic's verteran defender Bobo Balde, who is also a Birmingham target.The 32-year-old has been made available on a free transfer by Bhoys manager Gordon Strachan and Magilton is hoping to fight off competition to clinch his signature.

He told the Ipswich Evening Star: "Bobo has been made available by Celtic and we would like a conversation with him.

"If we can get him down and have a chat then we would like to, but it would be down to him and his advisors.

"I know Birmingham are very interested, but we have shown our interest so if we can get him here for a chat then you never know."
