Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp lavished praise upon new signing Kyle Naughton following an impressive performance against West Ham in the Barclays Asia Trophy on Thursday.
The 20-year-old, who joined from Sheffield United last week, started on the right side of midfield and caused numerous problems for the Hammers defence before Jermain Defoe's 75th-minute strike secured victory for Spurs.
"He did very well," he said. "He is a fantastic player and has a great attitude. Hopefully he will be a Tottenham player for many years to come. The midfield was excellent, we controlled play in the middle and that was important."
Redknapp completed the signing of Peter Crouch from Portsmouth at the start of the week and, while impressed with the performance of his players, he confirmed he would like to add further to his squad.
"It was a terrific workout," he said. "We passed the ball great and had lots of chances.
"When you have so many chances if you nick one it might win a game for you and overall we kept the ball great and I was pleased with the way we played.
"Defoe looked so sharp, it was only a matter of time before he took his chance and he had a few other opportunities that he made for himself with tricky pace and movement. I was very pleased with him.
"We have good options and now we have Crouch. We are looking stronger and we need to push on and if I can improve the squad further before the start of the season then I will."

looked very comfortable ! long may he progress and improve, well done
what the c***ap is this doing on the West Ham link, who gives a c**ap about what Harry thinks of his new signing
Yes Harry a centre half is a much much bigger priority than a striker , what are you doing about it !!!!!!!!
What does he mean "If we can improve the squad before dseason starts" !?
Don't Spurs need another holding midfielder and a few defenders??
Harry have you got hold of a shooter and are only going for goal?
Cheap way to improve the squad immediately - let Roma talk to Pav, and keep Bent instead as he is stalling over his move already. Bent is quicker, and is improving his strike rate all the time. Not a disaster if Pav stays instead, but I just feel that Bent has the slight edge.
Then get Noe Pamarot on a FREE - just released by Portsmouth - then maybe Bassong as reported - 2 ready made big, strong Centre halves.
SORTED.
