Stade Rennes forward Sylvain Wiltord could be out of action until December after sustaining a calf strain.
The club issued a statement on it's official website announcing that the France international will be out for up to a month.
The statement also announced more injury problems for the Brittany side, as Swiss striker Julien Esteban has been ruled out for two to three weeks with a thigh injury. However, Olivier Thomert will soon be back to full fitness as he recovers from a shoulder injury.
Former Arsenal striker Wiltord left French champions Lyon in August to rejoin the club where he started his career.
His three goals in five starts this season have helped Rennes keep pace with Lyon so far this season, and they are currently just four points behind the league leaders in third place, level on points with this season's surprise package, Nancy.
