Championship - Leicester miss out on Davids

Dutch midfielder Edgar Davids will not be joining Leicester, the club have announced.

The former Ajax, Barcelona and Juventus midfielder, 36, has been in talks with the Foxes for the past few weeks, but the two parties have been unable to strike a deal.

"Unfortunately we were not able to come to an agreement with Edgar and his representatives," chairman Milan Mandaric said.

"We have decided not take this matter further and wish Edgar luck in the future."

  2. Leicester, concentrate on bringing your youth into the­ team, give them the experience of first team football.­ It can only be fore the good. Don`t bother with­ has-beens (Newcastle have had their fair share of these­ overated players who are simply there for the money and­ nothing else).
