Manchester United have submitted a claim of mistaken identity to the Football Association after Fabio da Silva was booked by referee Chris Foy against Barnsley in the Carling Cup.
Instead the offender - for a challenge on Jamal Campbell-Ryce - was his twin brother Rafael.
The FA confirmed they have been approached by United and the submission will be heard on Tuesday by a regulatory commission.
The Brazilian twins helped United secure a place in the quarter-finals of the competition thanks to a 2-0 victory.
However the holders finished the game with 10 men after Foy sent off Gary Neville for clattering into Adam Hammill.

I am a ManUnited supporter but to purposely want to break another player's leg - be it from any club - is just sick. You win some you lose some. That's life. Just enjoy it.
2 Bobo S you mean so that even in his state of only being 70% fit that he wouldnt have been able to score as he did in your 2-0 LOSS ..AGAIN.. to LIVERPOOL?
Bobo S ....to quote House...."you're an idiot"
Personally and any Tom and @#$% will know this is a plot because every player's name and number are written at the back of his shirt. If a player is booked, the referee will check either his number or name on his back or both before booking him/her.So with this case if SAF claim to be right, then ManU has to be fined for written Rafael's name or number on his brothers shirt or vice versa and writting different names on the register.
Anyone who reason with me should thump me up.Serious.LOL
they should have got one of them to break torres' leg
