Vidic and Ferdinand doubtful

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is facing a defensive headache ahead of the Barclays Premier League match against Blackburn at Old Trafford.

Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand are both doubtful with calf problems and Gary Neville is suspended.

Ryan Giggs also has a knock and Danny Welbeck, who scored in the Carling Cup victory against Barnsley in midweek, is sidelined with a knee injury.

Darren Fletcher and Ji-Sung Park remain absent with groin and knee injuries respectively.

  6. Steve , a fellow Rovers fan here. I think we can give­ it a real go against United , and feel that we competed­ well against Chelsea until Givet gave them the­ advantage . Maybe rose-tinted glasses are involved but­ 50/1 at Paddy Power for us to be leading at half time­ and full time is a bit of a gift. Heres hoping anyway.

Oh dear thats a shame you will only be able to play 10­ internationals instead of 11??? get a life man u its a­ certainty at min 4 0 if we defend like we tried to do­ last week and the weeks before! we cant defend at home­ for more than a couple of minutes so what chance at­ the theatre of extra time??

    Give it a go sam lets see­ if we cant put them under a bit of pressure for at­ least 2 minutes in the game! rather loose 5 0 than go­ down with a wimper!!
