Bond bemoans poor finishing

Sun 30 Dec, 03:45 PM

Bournemouth boss Kevin Bond says his side can only blame themselves after failing to capitalise on their chances in the 2-2 draw with Swindon.Irishman Barry Corr scored twice to take his tally to four goals in three games as Swindon held the Cherries at the Fitness First stadium.

The tall striker opened Swindon's account three minutes after the break and then salvaged a point for the visitors for the late equaliser.

In between times, Bournemouth laid siege to the Swindon goal, scoring twice through Jo Kuffour and Sam Vokes to take a 2-1 lead, only to have victory snatched away in the closing stages.

"We played really well in the second half and got ourselves in front at the vital time, but it was so disappointing that our overall finishing was so poor," said Bond.

"We really ought to have built on that lead and put Swindon out of the game during the mid-period of the second half and in the end it cost us points."
