Brightwell does not fear the sack

Sun 30 Dec, 05:00 PM

Ian Brightwell will not panic despite seeing Macclesfield surrender a lead for the ninth time this season in the 2-2 draw at home to Rochdale.First-half goals from Levi Reid and Gareth Evans had put the Silkmen in control at Moss Rose on Saturday, but Dale hit back through a Luke Dimech own goal and a Glenn Murray header.

Macc boss Brightwell said: "I am fed up and frustrated that we were 2-0 up at half-time and yet again conceded two goals in the second half, the last deep in injury time.

"I'm very disappointed that we didn't finish it off and though we played some good stuff you've got to see it through to the end."

He added: "I don't feel under any pressure. The owners have been very good to me. They can see that we're playing some good stuff and that we're getting it right.

"I'm not going to panic and the players are not going to panic. We're 95 percent on the way to being a good team. It's the five percent of doing those little things at key moments that is now important."
