Sinnott: Recruits are required

Sun 30 Dec, 03:45 PM

Lee Sinnott admits the transfer window may provide Port Vale's only hope of avoiding relegation following the 2-1 home defeat to Luton. The Valiants, who sit bottom of League One, slipped to another defeat on Saturday after Matthew Spring's 35-yard free-kick sped off the Vale Park turf and sneaked low inside Joe Anyon's left-hand post in stoppage time.

And Sinnott admits new additions will be necessary if his side are to turn things around.

He said: "I've now had nine weeks of observation at this football club and that is going to culminate in one month's work. I'm looking to bring players in because it is obvious some things have got to change.

"It was a sickener to lose in the last minute and I don't think either team deserved to win. It was a wonderful strike, but I will have to look at the DVD to find out how the ball got into the net.

"But you can't buy into too many hard-luck stories and the table doesn't lie. I've made enquiries and we need to change things as soon as possible."
