Wilkins: Seagulls deserved more

Sun 30 Dec, 05:00 PM

Boss Dean Wilkins branded Yeovil as Brighton's "bogey" side after slipping to their second defeat in a week, losing 2-1 after taking the lead.Alex Revel gave the Seagulls the lead in Saturday's League One clash at Huish Park but Yeovil pushed for an equaliser and got their reward after 42 minutes when a clever pass by Marcus Stewart set up Gary Dempsey who hammered the ball into the roof of the net from 12 yards.

Five minutes into the second half, the Glovers took the lead when winger Zoltan Stieber picked up the rebound after his cross was cleared back to him, and hit the ball into an empty net with goalkeeper Michael Kuipers stranded.

Wilkins said: "I thought we deserved something out of the game. I don't like to use the term 'bogey' team but we never seem to get a win or a draw against Yeovil so perhaps they are a 'bogey' side as far as we're concerned.

"We were playing our best football but Yeovil are a good side and when they came back at us we had to work hard."
