Hartlepool manager Danny Wilson has increased his defensive options with the acquisition of Hull's Sam Collins for an undisclosed fee.The 30-year-old has made just one appearance for the Tigers this season in the 3-2 FA Cup third-round defeat at Plymouth and had a loan spell at Swindon earlier in the season.

Collins was expected to move on from the KC Stadium in search of first-team football.

Pools boss Danny Wilson will look to Collins to bring stability to a Hartlepool defence that has shipped 12 goals in their last five matches.
